Samantha Lantagne
My name is Sam, and I specialize in working with anxiety and associated issues (i.e. health anxiety, insomnia, persistent pain), relationship challenges, and complicated grief.
My approach is informed by CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and mindfulness-based strategies. However, I am far from rigid in my approach, and tend to integrate from a variety of modalities depending on my clients’ needs. For example, when working with pain, I utilize a lot of PRT (Pain Reprocessing Therapy) principles. Or, I may see that a client will benefit more from a relational, emotionally focused lens than a cognitive behavioural one.
Initial sessions will feel very exploratory; I will allow you to direct us without making any assumptions about what you need, but we will curiously explore your upbringing, your values, your relationships and your worldview. As we move forward in the process and become clear on your goals for therapy, I’ll bring in interventions that allow you to continue the work and reflection on your own time in between sessions.
My style is kind, honest and authentic. I genuinely believe in the strength of my clients and see therapy as being a collaborative process, but I’ll take the lead when it’s beneficial.
I see therapy as going beyond symptom management; ultimarely, I want you to create a life that feels full and meaningful to you.
